Leah was born in Washington state but grew up mostly in Siloam Springs, AR, where, along with her two siblings, she played recreational sports from a young age. She tried basketball, soccer, swimming, and cross country, but decided her favorites were soccer and swimming, which she competed in throughout all four years of high school.
She studied history at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, and was also a member of the Lady Tigers soccer team for two years. After graduating, Leah moved back home to Siloam Springs where she found Crossfit through the influence of her dad. She quickly became obsessed with the sport and spent all of her extra time training at the gym. She earned her CF-L1 that summer and started coaching part-time at her home gym.
She earned her Masters in Teaching online from Harding University and taught history and psychology at the high school level for three semesters and fourth grade for one year. She continued training, competing regionally, and coaching on the side. She recently decided to leave teaching and pursue her passion for fitness and helping people be stronger, healthier human beings full-time.
When she’s not at the gym coaching or working out, Leah enjoys taking her dog, Bella, on walks, writing for her personal blog, reading (all different kinds of books), playing the piano and flute, hanging out with friends and family, and drinking coffee.
